Salinas police officers will be looking for drunken drivers on Thursday, officials announced today.
The checkpoint will be held in the evening at an undisclosed location, police said.
DUI checkpoints, police said, are conducted to identify drunken drivers, prevent DUI-related car wrecks, and educate the public on the dangers of impaired driving.
The operation is funded by the California Office of Traffic Safety through the National Traffic Safety Administration.
