Monterey County DUI Checkpoint:Salinas

Salinas DUI Lawyers will get a call or two tomorrow or next week. Apparently there is a DUI Checkpoint scheduled for tonight ( Thursday) in Salinas. The location is undisclosed, only saying that it is in the city somewhere. Your best bet to avoid a DUI checkpoint is to not drink and drive. The other is to check for updates and avoid them all together.

Salinas DUI Checkpoint

Remember a few things when going through a DUI checkpoint.

  • Don’t argue
  • Have your Driver License and Registration ready
  • Don’t admit anything
  • Don’t offer anything ( Such as a medication you may be taking)
  • Tell the passengers in your car to shape up ( you’re the one who’ll go to jail).
  • Understand they are just doing their jobs.
  • Answer with a yes and a no.

Keeping your cool is what will get you through it. They are trained professionals looking for a drunk driver.

Salinas police said officers will be searching for drunken drivers and those driving without a license Thursday evening.

Here is the full story:
“Police said the DUI and driver’s license checkpoint will be conducted at an undisclosed location in the city.

The purpose of the effort is to educate the public about the dangers of driving drunk and driving without a license.

The operation is funded through a grant by the state Office of Traffic Safety through the National Traffic Safety Administration.”
